2021 Buick Enspire Specs, Price, Photos, & News. The 2021 Buick Enspire is the latest project by General Motors. The automotive giant is ready to jump into the electric fight against its archrival. Ford already presented Mach E, a battery-powered SUV. The response is coming soon and Enspire has already been presented. The latest rumors say the vehicle might take the conventional engine with internal combustion. We doubt the GM will miss the chance to take advantage of the good reception of Enspire EV.

The concept was introduced at Beijing Auto Show in 2018. The highlights of the model were incredible acceleration and range. Well, we did not bite 4 seconds and 370 miles, but anything under that would be a great start for the company that struggles to keep up with the competition. GM is missing hybrid units in most segments, while Ford and Japanese manufacturers are preparing all-electric SUVs. Enspire EV is a must for General Motors.

What Do We Know So Far?

Buick has three SUVs in the squad– midsize Enclave, compact Envision, and subcompact Encore. The Enspire platform introduces something new. No, it won’t fill the spot in the size-related lineup, but totally different one. GM is electrifying the lineup and it is a bit strange why the company started from it’s the least favorite brand. Chevrolet and GMC products are selling much better. On the other hand, Buick established the brand in China, where the new prototype was introduced. In this part of world electric vehicles are also more and more popular.

The concept was pretty futuristic. General Motors is showing high ambitions. The 2021 Buick Enspire might be only the next step towards production, which won’t start so soon. Other rumors are speaking of the all-electric SUV by the GM in 2022, and some sources claim this one will appear as the Hummer EV. Definitely, the popular nameplate would have more chances than the Buick badge.

2021 Buick Enspire Spy Photos

Autoblog is trying to turn fans against the 2021 Buick Enspire claiming the SUV is not going to be the EV. The site is showing spy photos of a new Buick compact crossover. Their ‘sharp eyes’ noticed hidden exhaust tips, which is the base for claiming the Enspire will have an engine with internal combustion. Well, their reporters also say the test mule is about to replace Envision, which takes the spot in the compact class.

This story could buy clicks, but any fan or expert is not going to bite it. The existing crossover is ready for the redesign after five years in the market. There is no sense of replacing it with the cool concept which is there to make the GM catch up with the competition. Don’t take these ‘reports’ for granted. There is still a way to go before we find out the release date of the 2021 Buick Enspire.

Highlights

When the crossover appeared for the first time, we were stunned with its look and performance. Of course, the differences between the concept and the production version are usually pretty huge. The base is cool and promises an aggressive vehicle. The sloped roofline is going to improve aerodynamics. On the other hand, occupants in the rear row will lack some headroom. Plus, the battery is going to take a position under seats, which will harm the interior room.

The power source for the 2021 Buick Enspire will be a big electric battery. The GM is using the eMotion technology to boost the outputs. Reportedly, the SUV will be able to put out 550 horsepower. Such energy, in combination with a praised aesthetic look, will be good for 0-60 acceleration in less than 4 seconds. This is creme-de-la-crème time in the SUV class. Another important part of the EV is the electric range. The new Envision is supposed to go 370 miles in a single charge. Well, these numbers are very optimistic for a rookie in the segment. If the upcoming vehicle manages to return 250 miles and 5 seconds for 0-60 mph, GM’s fans will be happy.

When Will 2021 Buick Enspire Be Available?

Some things are already said– the biggest rival for the 2021 Buick Enspire will be the arrival of the Hummer EV. General Motors company is already announcing big things. “Our electric future is now” is the slogan we see more often, bringing more and more speculations. Well, there is a way to go for the GM before we see the production version of any vehicle with electric drivetrain (we don’t count Chevy Bolt).

One of the biggest problems in this industry is a financial structure. Carmakers are investing billions in electrifications. It seems like GM is going the same way. The company agreed on a partnership with some startups, and one of the most interesting is Spring Labs. Plus, we can see the electric truck project called Bollinger B2. At first sight, we see where the inspiration comes from. Could it serve as the next Hummer electric SUV or truck? Well, the electric drivetrain can be the base for further development.
