2022 Hyundai Palisade Specs, Price, Pictures, & Changes

2022 Hyundai Palisade Specs, Price, Pictures, & Changes. We can say that Palisade is the latest name in Hyundai’s lineup, at least behind this badge. Recently, the Korean company has shown its ambition by stepping into the premium market with the Genesis GV80 SUV.

The 2022 Hyundai Palisade will be the second edition of the mid-size vehicle that arrived in 2018. The carmaker took more than a year to get it from the production to dealerships.

The upcoming SUV won’t introduce any cosmetic updates. We hope for the N Sport package, which is optional, by the way. There, a few sportier details could be added. A pair of petrol units is coming mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Under the hood, new systems could happen. Hybrid is one of the wishes, but it is not so simple. Outside the US, the 2022 Hyundai Palisade is coming also with a diesel drivetrain.

The SUV replaced the Santa Fe XL as the only Hyundai with a seven-seat configuration. In the future, we could see an off-road edition or even the high-end luxury and performance version with more powerful engines.

What We Like About the New SUV?

The 2022 Hyundai Palisade is going to be a spacious vehicle, perfect for larger families. The SUV can seat up to eight persons. If you need extra space for cargo, the power-folding row will replace the manual movements. In the matter of fact, even the rear bench offers enough space for adults, with 31 inches of legroom, and 40 inches of headroom.

Palisade is also offering competitive power outputs. Not only that, but the SUV is pretty efficient. Safety is on a high level. Some of the features you will find are forward-collision warning and blind-spot avoidance. The infotainment system is pretty good. Well, since it is launched this season, Palisade won’t need big updates. A 10-inch screen, five USB ports, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Blue Link services … and many other options are there.

New Engines

Under the bonnet of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade will still be a 3.8-liter V6 engine. This petrol unit is delivering 290 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The power output is nice, but the Palisade is also very economical. With 23 mpg combined and a fuel tank of 19 gallons, the SUV will cover pretty long distances. Front-wheel drive is standard. Acceleration and handling are not spectacular. We already got used to it with other Hyundai models. N Sport might fix the situation. We are still waiting for the package for the Tucson.

If you pick an all-wheel drive, you will get better traction. On the other hand, this configuration consumes slightly more fuel. Still, there are a few drive modes to select the more efficient or sportier drive. The SUV can tow up to 5,000 pounds. The first test show the Palisade is not too quick. As said, the design slows down acceleration and 0-60 mph time is 7 seconds.

The existing drivetrain for the US market, the Palisade also uses a 3.3-liter petrol engine. Well, this one is familiar, since it was a part of the lineup on its predecessor. On the other hand, fans are also interested in diesel powerplant. A 2.2-liter turbo unit is also well-known. With 200 hp and 325 lb-ft of twist, this is an excellent alternative. Of course, a diesel will bring a better fuel economy, but there are problems with emissions.

2022 Hyundai Palisade Changes

The SUV offers a pair of petrol engines and one diesel unit. Only one option is available in the US. This is the biggest thing we expect from the first update. A hybrid configuration or any other choice will be good. The acceleration is not great. It is even a bigger fault having in mind the Palisade’s predecessor Santa Fe XL did it better. Well, the new SUV comes with a larger and higher grille.

2022 Hyundai Palisade Trims and Prices

Three different packages are waiting for you if Palisade is your choice. Well, we still expect news about additional options, especially with fresh engines.

The base version is the SE. the price is more than fair. Under $32,000 you are getting an eight-inch display, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and eight seats. Add $2,000 and there is shiny grille, new wheels design, and few other upgrades outside the vehicle. The SEL package adds more safety features and captain’s chairs in the middle row, dropping the seating capacity to seven.

The top of the range version will be the 2022 Hyundai Palisade Limited. Dual-panel sunroof and a huge 12-inch infotainment screen are the highlights of this model.

More quality materials are covering the surfaces. HUD is also there. A hybrid or possible high-output version will beat the starting price of $45,000. Limited version can go up with a few upgrades, but the cost should not exceed $50,000.
