2022 Lincoln Navigator Changes, Specs, Prices, & Photos. The 2022 Lincoln Navigator will still be one of the rare full-size luxury SUVs with a V6 engine under the hood. The high-output drivetrain can deliver enough power for this big premium rig. Changes for the new season might include a new powerplant. A few engines are being mentioned in speculations surrounding the Navigator. There won’t be more than one extra option for the 2022 YM.

The new generation of the SUV is still fresh. The premium branch of Ford Motors launched the latest Navigator in 2019. Every season we will see the technology update inside the cabin to keep the step with the latest technologies. The 2022 Lincoln Navigator is also going to be one of the most spacious vehicles in the market. Exterior updates are minor and we can only see the new Black Label themes.

The full-size luxury SUV class is growing. The main rival to the 2022 Navigator remains the Cadillac Escalade. Now, with new styling and IRS, the premium models will enter the new chapter in their rivalry. Japanese carmakers are also preparing a few surprises, with the new generations of Toyota Land Cruiser 300, Lexus LX600, and Infiniti QX80 Monograph on the way.

Hybrid Engine Might Debut Later Next Season

The SUV is using a 3.5-liter V6 engine as its only choice. The powerplant is pretty capable, thanks to the twin-turbo system, making it crunch 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. The same configuration is powering the Raptor truck. It won’t be there for too long. The latest spy photos are unveiling a prototype that is probably testing the new unit which can respond to the new Ram 1500 TRX. Raptor might need to boost the power output, but Navigator is still one of the most powerful SUVs in the market.

On the other hand, Ford recently launched a 7.3-liter V8 engine with 430 hp. This one might replace a V6. It seems the main downside of the Navigator, which is also getting the highest towing capacity outputs from a 3.5-liter turbo-six.

Engineers are also preparing a hybrid setup for big rigs. If the Ford F-150 gets it, be sure that full-size SUVs are also going to use the same technology. The 2022 Lincoln Navigator hybrid is not confirmed. The engine could debut next season and enter dealerships as 2022 YM. By then, we can see the first electric SUVs by GM.

2022 Lincoln Navigator Colors and Interior Features

The cabin of the 2022 Lincoln Navigator will be full of the latest equipment and advanced features. There are only two standard models and the third one is the unique Black Label After only a single season, the carmaker upgraded the offer with more accessories and now we see the SUV with more options controlled from smartphones. One of them is Phone-as-Key. Wireless charger became standard all across the lineup. Heated and cooled seats are also there, while you can opt for captain’s chairs in the middle-row. Seating capacity will be seven with such a layout, or eight if you pick a bench.

We are still waiting to see the new colors for the 2022 Navigator. Four paintjobs are available without extra cost: Infinite Black, Blue Diamond, Silver Radiance, and Silver Jade. Premium colors will cost $700: Ceramic Pearl, Red Carpet, Pristine White, Iced Mocha, and Burgundy Velvet. Reserve trim adds Rhapsody Blue.

Navigator vs Escalade

Two archrivals will continue to battle in 2022. This time the Cadillac is launching the new generation of the luxury SUV. The fresh styling, Escalade will feature the IRS system, making it more durable and capable of the off-road drive. GM’s model also uses a V8 engine, and power outputs are nearly the same. Both SUVs are offering long-wheelbase versions, Navigator L and Escalade ESV. Do not mix it with the Escalade EXT luxury truck, which might be back in the market soon.

2022 Lincoln Navigator Black Label

Speaking of colors, the 2022 Lincoln Navigator Black Label will remove a few options, making only five standard options available (premium and non-premium for lower trims). If you want unique paintjobs, Molten Gold and Crystal Blue are chrome colors available at $1,750. The Black Label is not upgrading the engine room or the exterior with special options. The highlight of this model is a unique interior with three themes. Chalet will paint the cabin in alpine and espresso combination, Destination uses mahogany red, while the Yacht Club is mixing sand and blue colors.

The cost of the full-size luxury SUV will depend on engine choices. Still, the base configuration should remain the same, starting under $77,000. Every further upgrade will cost extra. The 2022 Lincoln Navigator Black Label is just under $100,000. Standard and Reserve are two other trim levels available for the premium SUV.
